More About Our Luxury Dahabiya

A dahabiya is a traditional sailing vessel that was used on the Nile river in Egypt. It is a type of houseboat that is typically smaller and more luxurious than other types of boats on the river. The crew of a dahabiya typically includes a captain, a cook, and other crew members who take care of the boat and provide service to the passengers.
Our Luxurious Dahabiya is a 56-meter-long, 8-meter-wide sailing vessel without an engine that has a lower cabin deck, a sun deck and is accompanied by a tugboat.
Our cabins and suites
On the lower deck there are ten comfortable outside cabins (3.5 x 3.25 m) with huge panoramic windows and two spacious suites (4.9 x 4 m) with private terraces on the lower deck. Each of the ten cabins and 2 suites has a unique bathroom with a different colour scheme. There is independently adjustable air conditioning in every cabin and suite.
The drawing room with its library
Our magnificent Dahabiya's saloon is situated on the same floor. It is four by eight metres in dimension and houses our extensive library, which includes fiction as well as illustrated and interesting volumes about the history of ancient Egypt, contemporary living in Egypt.
If the temperature upstairs becomes uncomfortably hot, you can retreat to the salon because it is air-conditioned and wind-protected. Depending on the weather and temperature, meals may also be served down here during the winter.
The kitchen, crew quarters, and boat manager's quarters are positioned next to the saloon.
The sun deck
The large table, which serves as the ship's centre of gravity, is set up on the sun deck and is surrounded by a lovely wooden design. Meals can be shared by visitors here.
Since food is purchased and prepared every day at neighbourhood markets, the food is always fresh.
Additionally, there are multiple sofas on the sun deck where you may relax and enjoy the scenery while sipping tea and reading on loungers.
There is a bar located here, where our helpful bartender will assist you.
Last but not least, the Arabic seating area welcomes you to stay awhile with its classic couches.
